Job Summary

Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Open Heart. This position supports complex open-heart surgical procedures in a high-acuity setting, including Level I trauma care. The role requires cardiovascular operating room experience, electronic health record experience, and participation in scheduled call, weekend, and holiday coverage.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: NBSTSA certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or ARC; minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular operating room experience; open-heart surgical experience; Level I trauma experience; Electronic health record experience with EPIC.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with coronary artery bypass graft procedures, aortic aneurysm repair, endovascular aortic repair, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, ventricular assist devices, mitral valve replacement, atrial septal defect repair, angioplasty and stenting, electrosurgical units, aseptic technique, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment, radiation safety, sharps safety, specimen handling and labeling, and universal time-out procedures.
Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: On-call coverage is required 12 days per week with a 30-minute response time. Weekend coverage is required every third or fourth weekend, from Friday at 4:30 p.m. through Monday at 6:00 a.m. Holiday coverage is required as needed, including 2 of 3 major holidays. Floating may be required based on operational needs. The role may involve caring for patients with COVID-19. The facility is tobacco-free and fragrance-free. Required vaccinations include COVID-19 and influenza, with limited medical or religious exemptions as applicable.
