Job Summary

Emergency Room, Presque Isle, Maine This position provides emergency care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, including trauma, stroke, cardiac emergencies, and behavioral health presentations. The role involves working nights in a high-acuity emergency department with variable patient ratios based on acuity.

Job Details

Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications preferred.
Additional Information:
- Emergency care for patients from neonates through geriatrics, including trauma, stroke, cardiac emergencies, behavioral health, and general emergency presentations.
- Expected clinical skills include electrocardiograms, intravenous starts, tenecteplase administration familiarity, nebulizer treatments, initiating bilevel positive airway pressure, suture removal, casting assistance, and ventilator management.
- Registered nurse patient ratios are typically 1:4 and may vary according to patient acuity.
- Weekend rotation occurs every other weekend; no call is required, and holiday coverage may be needed.
- Two days of organization orientation are followed by one day with a preceptor.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- The assignment is scheduled to start on 12/07/2026 and end on 03/06/2027.
