Description
Job Summary
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) registered nurse position located in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves providing specialized patient care in a 20-bed unit with a focus on cardiac and step-down patients. The position supports a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality care, utilizing advanced equipment and adhering to hospital policies. The shift is scheduled for nights, with an expected minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 10/19/2026 and ending on 01/18/2027.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS certification; experience in step-down, cardiac drips (Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Nitro, etc.); BIPAP/CPAP/High Flow care; ability to perform bedside cardioversion; strong patient monitoring skills; flexible to float to related units (Step-Down, Medsurg) as needed; no minimum experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-catheterization care without intervention; familiarity with electronic documentation and scheduling systems; team-oriented mindset and strong accountability.
- Additional Information: Unit utilizes advanced equipment such as ZOLL monitors, Baxter pumps, GE telemetry, Hillrom beds, specialized Beds, and kangaroo pumps. Clinical skills involve bedside procedures including cardioversion. Attending shift huddles, bedside shift reports, and punctual shift start are mandatory. The department values teamwork, accountability, and has a culture of recognition and high staff tenure, including a 0% turnover rate over the past two years.
