Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse in an acute care facility. This position involves providing high-acuity medical-surgical and thoracic/cardiovascular intensive care to patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, ARDS, CHF, COPD, post-STEMI, post-arrest, post-surgical, CABG, carotid, DKA, GI bleed, overdose, alcohol withdrawal, and CVA. The role requires advanced skills in titrating drips and managing complex patient needs, with a focus on professional and compassionate patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7:30 PM 7:00 AM), minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum of 3 years ICU experience, recent EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience within the last year, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (AHA), NIHSS certifications.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventilators (vent, BiPAP, HiFlow Nasal Cannula), managing titratable drips such as vasopressors, sedation, paralytics, insulin, heparin; ICU experience with high acuity patients; ability to perform EKGs and draw labs independently.
• Additional Information: Orientation consists of two shifts, including classroom, unit orientation, and precepted patient care. Travelers may be assigned to specialty procedures such as Impella or open-heart recovery if competency is verified. The unit is located on the 4th floor, with support staff available 24/7. Floating to other units may be required, with up to five patients assigned per shift. Weekend shifts are required, with a minimum of six weekends within six weeks. No call or standby responsibilities.
