Description

Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Oakland. This position provides specialized nursing care to pediatric, infant, neonatal, and adolescent patients in a high-acuity intensive care setting. The role supports complex cardiac and neurological patient care, requires clinical expertise in pediatric critical care, and may include floating to other departments or facilities as needed.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Assignment Dates: 12/08/202603/02/2027.
Required Qualifications: California registered nurse license in hand; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; minimum of 5 years of experience; teaching hospital experience; experience using Epic; ability to care for patients at a 2:1 ratio.
Preferred Qualifications: Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) experience; previous charge experience; Level I trauma experience.
Float: Float rotation may be required.
Additional Information: Care is provided to neonates, infants, pediatric patients, and adolescents in a 23-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The unit manages mixed neurological and cardiac cases in a Level I trauma setting and provides support for ventilated patients, invasive monitoring, continuous renal replacement therapy, chest tubes, central lines, external ventricular drains, tracheostomies, vasoactive medications, procedural sedation, and post-cardiac or neurosurgical care. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, and unit secretarial support.
