Job Summary
Emergency Room Los Angeles, California. This travel position supports care for pediatric and adult patients in a high-acuity emergency setting. The role requires strong assessment, triage, emergency care, and dysrhythmia management skills in a complex clinical environment.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); California nursing license; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; electronic medical record experience with Epic; experience caring for pediatric patients; prior travel experience; two years of nursing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; previous charge experience; trauma, adult or pediatric emergency, and pediatric experience; experience in a teaching environment; Level I or Level II trauma experience.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., 36 hours per week, including four weekend shifts per four-week schedule.
- Additional Information: The position supports a combined adult and pediatric emergency department serving neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. Clinical responsibilities may include triage, care for trauma and sepsis patients, management of cardiac and neurologic emergencies, continuous intravenous sedation, intravenous vasopressor management, central line care, ventilator care, noninvasive ventilation, isolation precautions, and interpretation of dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases. The setting includes Level I trauma services, comprehensive stroke services, transplant services, teaching services, pediatric services, and advanced extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment. Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and transportation.
