Job Summary

Nurse, Labor and Delivery Department. The role provides routine and complex nursing care in a perinatal setting, including assessment, treatment, patient education, documentation, and care coordination. The position requires independent clinical judgment and effective delegation to support patient and family needs.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Current registered nurse license in Texas or a compact state; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred; current certification in one of the following: Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate Fetal Monitoring or National Certification Corporation (NCC) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM); current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 PM7:00 AM, 36 hours per week.
Additional Information: Provides nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Administers medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols, monitors treatment effectiveness and side effects, documents patient information and care provided, and delivers education to patients, families, and caregivers. Newly hired experienced registered nurses complete an orientation and precepted onboarding process with organizational and perinatal competency validation. Annual competency verification is required. Perinatal nurse residency or recent practice in a perinatal setting is preferred.
