Description

Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician Templeton. Provides support during labor, delivery, recovery, and obstetric surgical procedures. Responsibilities include surgical scrubbing, sterile supply preparation, patient assistance, room turnover, and support for the operating team.

Job Details

Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week; call may be required as needed.
Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification; at least 1 year of experience; surgical scrub experience; vaginal delivery experience; cesarean section experience; and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience using EPIC.
Preferred Qualifications: High school education or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent; associate or technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience; Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification; and obstetrics experience.
Additional Information: Supports preparation of patient rooms; opens sterile supplies and establishes surgical fields using aseptic technique; verifies sterile package integrity; provides supplies and instruments during procedures; participates in surgical timeouts; assists with patient preparation, positioning, transportation, transfer, discharge, and activities of daily living; collects urine specimens; records maternal vital signs, weight, height, and intake and output; performs room turnover; stocks supplies; assembles charts; responds to phones and call lights; records census updates; and performs other related duties as assigned.
