Job Summary

Surgical Technician, Operating Room Technician, Templeton. Supports patient care during labor, delivery, recovery, and obstetric surgical procedures. Performs surgical scrub duties, prepares sterile supplies and procedure areas, assists with patient transfers and positioning, and helps maintain appropriate supplies and room readiness.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification; at least 1 year of experience; cesarean section, vaginal delivery, surgical scrub, and electronic medical record system experience required. High school education or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent and an associate or technical degree are preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification; obstetrics experience.
• Schedule: Night shifts; 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Assists with labor and delivery preparation, patient positioning, transport, transfer, discharge, and recovery. Opens sterile supplies and establishes procedure setups using aseptic technique, checks sterile packaging integrity, provides instruments and supplies during procedures, and participates in procedural timeouts. Performs maternal vital signs, weight, height, urinalysis specimen collection, and intake and output measurements. Provides personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, turns over patient rooms, stocks supplies, assembles charts, answers phones and call lights, and updates census logs. Call coverage may be required as needed. Required vaccinations apply, subject to applicable medical and religious exemptions.
