Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Floor. This position provides comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients across the continuum of care, including preoperative and postoperative assessment, education, documentation, and clinical support. The role requires strong assessment, clinical, safety, and patient education skills while supporting coordinated perioperative care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; one year of experience; competency in assessment, nursing care, emergency equipment and procedures, documentation, and clinical skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Associate or bachelors degree in nursing.
• Additional Information:
  • Performs systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments across the lifespan.
  • Provides individualized care for surgical patients based on the procedure, anesthesia type, condition, and developmental needs.
  • Completes preoperative and postoperative assessments, patient education, and clinical documentation.
  • Evaluates Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and potential omissions based on the proposed surgery, patient age, and current health status.
  • Supports timely completion of patient testing and promotes safe patient transfers using proper body mechanics.
  • Follows patient safety goals, Universal Protocol, patient identification procedures, confidentiality guidelines, and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Assignment dates: 11/16/2026 through 01/09/2027.
