Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician. The position supports surgical services by preparing supplies and equipment, maintaining sterile fields, assisting with procedures, and promoting safe, efficient patient care. The role also includes documentation, inventory activities, equipment checks, and collaboration with surgeons and healthcare professionals.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program or completion of military training as a scrub technician.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Surgical Technician Certification (TS-C, CST, or NRST).
  • At least 1 year of recent relevant experience.
  • Charting system experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Assists with a variety of surgical procedures and prepares appropriate supplies, instruments, equipment, and patient draping.
  • Establishes and maintains sterile fields while following aseptic technique, universal protocol, sterilization, disinfection, fire safety, laser safety, radiation safety, sharps safety, and specimen-handling procedures.
  • Maintains clean, organized, and safe operating rooms before and after procedures.
  • Performs documentation, supply inventory, equipment quality checks, and reporting of equipment malfunctions.
  • Protects patient protected health information (PHI) and follows departmental, regulatory, and patient-safety standards.
  • Call coverage is required approximately 45 days per month, including weekends.
  • The department performs approximately 5060 procedures daily and provides care for patients across neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
