Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit. This position provides care for adult and geriatric patients requiring critical care, including ventilator support, hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive medication management, and acute stroke care. The role includes 12-hour day shifts and participation in weekend coverage.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid California Registered Nurse license; at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience; previous travel experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained before the start date.
• Preferred Qualifications: Three or more years of experience and community hospital experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Care for adult and geriatric patients in an intensive care setting.
  • Manage ventilated patients, noninvasive ventilation, arterial lines, central lines, peripherally inserted central catheters, chest tubes, and blood products.
  • Administer and titrate cardiac, vasoactive, sedative, paralytic, and insulin infusions.
  • Provide care for patients with acute stroke, renal failure, multisystem organ dysfunction, dysrhythmias, and complex postoperative conditions.
  • Interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac rhythms, obtain 12-lead electrocardiograms, perform phlebotomy, and maintain intravenous access.
  • Support infection prevention, isolation precautions, procedural sedation, hypothermia protocols, and thermoregulation.
  • Weekend coverage is required, with the number of weekend shifts varying by contract.
  • Orientation includes 12 hours.
