Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Long Term Acute Care. The position provides nursing care for respiratory-focused, ventilator-dependent patients in a respiratory step-down setting. Responsibilities include caring for medically complex patients and performing specialized clinical procedures in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 1 year of registered nursing experience; experience caring for respiratory or ventilator-dependent patients is strongly preferred.
• Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification and prior travel nursing experience.
• Schedule: Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week; every other weekend is required.
• Additional Information: The position serves respiratory-focused and medically complex chronic-care patients. Clinical responsibilities include intravenous starts, medication drips, blood administration, electrocardiograms, medication titration, glucose monitoring, wound vacuum changes, complex and simple wound dressings, tracheostomy care, suctioning, straight catheterization, urinary catheter care, port access, central-line dressing changes, and wound measurements. Respiratory therapists manage ventilators. Patient-care ratios range from 1:7 to 1:12, depending on the unit and shift.
