Job Summary:
PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) Nurse Location not specified. This role involves providing post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia, primarily for general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, ENT, and cath lab procedures. The position requires experience in critical care and a strong understanding of recovery protocols following anesthesia.

Job Details:

• Required Qualifications: Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification; active license to submit; at least 3 years of clinical experience with some critical care background preferred; experience with Cerner electronic medical record system; minimum of 3 years experience required.
• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 07:00 to 17:00, totaling 40 hours per week.
• Additional Information: This role includes caring for all post-operative patients who have undergone general anesthesia, including cath lab patients. Critical care patients are transferred directly to the ICU. The unit operates with a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio depending on patient transition needs. The hospital has an on-call policy for hospitalists or intensivists after hours and telemetry. Orientation with a preceptor is provided, and telemonitoring equipment is used.
• Charting System: Cerner electronic medical record system.
• Other notes: No float rotation required; unit is located within the hospital, and shifts may involve on-call responsibilities, though not required for weekends or holidays.
