Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Specialist position available in a high-volume maternity unit. This role involves providing compassionate, high-quality care to high-risk obstetric patients in a fast-paced setting, ensuring the safety and well-being of mothers and neonates. The position is located at a busy, specialized perinatal center with a focus on high-risk deliveries and advanced fetal monitoring.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Fetal Monitoring Advanced AWHONN (Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, including high-risk delivery experience; Licensure to submit; Must be familiar with Pitocin, Mag Sulfate, Insulin Drips, and high-risk obstetric procedures; Floating to antepartum and postpartum units may be required
- Additional Information: Unit has 12 Labor and Delivery beds and 10 triage beds, with an average of 200 births per month; unit follows AWHONN guidelines; staff includes charge nurses, OB techs, and 24/7 in-house OB and Neonatology coverage; EMR system is Cerner; experience with high-risk pregnancies (blood pressure issues, multiples, diabetes, no prenatal care, substance abuse, etc.) preferred; sterile scrub attire is required.
