Job Summary

Medical Surgical With Telemetry Night-shift nursing position providing care for a diverse range of medical-surgical patients. The role requires a collaborative, adaptable professional experienced in telemetry, heparin administration, and supporting a dynamic unit environment.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week. Contracts of 8, 10, or 13 weeks are available.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum 24 months of current Medical-Surgical or Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience; completion of at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months; active Iowa license or compact/multistate license at submission; American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; experience caring for a variety of medical-surgical patient types; experience with the electronic medical record system; heparin experience; charge experience; telemetry and cardiac care skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Strong telemetry and cardiac background; preceptor experience; willingness to extend beyond the initial contract; recent professional reference or performance evaluation from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), or Chief Operating Officer (COO).
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: The role provides care for a variety of medical-surgical patients with typical patient ratios of 45:1. Responsibilities may include caring for patients receiving heparin and working with remotely monitored telemetry. Navy-blue solid scrubs are required. Orientation dates are 11/09/2026, 11/23/2026, and 12/07/2026. Holiday coverage may include 12 of the three upcoming holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Years.
