Job Summary

Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery Department Kings County. This position delivers coordinated nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards and the nursing process. The role supervises assigned nursing staff, coordinates interdisciplinary care, and applies critical thinking and independent judgment in a labor and delivery setting.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor; American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Resuscitation Certification (ARC) Advanced Life Support (ALS); American Heart Association (AHA) Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or Advanced Resuscitation Certification (ARC) Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; acute care facility experience preferred.
Schedule: Nights; 12-hour shifts; minimum 36 hours per week.
Responsibilities: Collects and analyzes patient data, develops and implements care plans, evaluates outcomes, coordinates care delivery, promotes a safe environment, collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers, provides health education, participates in discharge planning, and delegates appropriately to healthcare team members.
Additional Information: Experience with the EPIC electronic health record system is required. The position requires the ability to assume care for a patient recovering in Labor and Delivery and assist with births performed by cesarean section.
