Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Telemetry. The position provides nursing care for acutely ill adult and geriatric patients requiring cardiac monitoring in a post-surgical setting. Responsibilities include interpreting cardiac rhythms, responding to rhythm changes, administering intravenous cardiac medications, and coordinating care to address patient and family needs.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience; traveler experience; valid California Registered Nurse license; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; electrocardiogram (EKG) interpretation skills.
• Additional Information:
  • Provides care for adult and geriatric telemetry patients.
  • Interprets cardiac rhythms and responds appropriately to rhythm changes.
  • Administers intravenous cardiac medications, heparin, and insulin infusions.
  • Coordinates physiological, psychosocial, safety, learning, and self-care needs for patients and their families.
  • Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
  • On-call coverage may be required as needed.
  • May float to other telemetry or medical-surgical units based on operational needs.
