Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Emergency Room. The Registered Nurse provides direct care to acutely ill and non-acute patients in a frequently stressful environment. Responsibilities include patient assessment and triage, initiating immediate care during life-threatening situations, performing nursing procedures, assisting with provider procedures, and providing discharge and follow-up instructions.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; weekend coverage required two weekends per month.
Required Qualifications: At least 2 years of Emergency Room experience; active Michigan nursing license; active American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; active Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification; current skills checklist pertinent to Emergency Room nursing; and two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
Preferred Qualifications: Travel nursing experience and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Additional Information: Performs nursing assessments, develops and updates care plans, provides skilled nursing services, processes provider orders, evaluates treatment effectiveness, and collaborates with the care team to improve patient outcomes. The role includes triaging patients, obtaining histories and vital signs, initiating emergency care, operating sophisticated equipment, responding to ambulance communications, and providing physical and psychological support to patients, families, and visitors.
