Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit. The position supports adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity intensive care setting, including a significant neuro patient population. The role requires proficiency in complex critical care interventions, flexibility with unit assignments, and participation in an overnight schedule.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; every other weekend and on-call coverage as needed.
- Required Qualifications:
- Valid California Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- At least 3 years of Registered Nurse intensive care experience
- Travel nursing experience
- Required charting system experience
- Comfort and proficiency caring for neuro patients
- Additional Information:
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2.
- Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients.
- Responsibilities may include ventilator management, central line care, arterial line management, continuous sedation, vasoactive medication titration, external ventricular drain management, intracranial pressure monitoring, and acute stroke care.
- Flexibility to support other units within scope of practice may be required based on operational needs.
- Orientation includes 12 hours.
- Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support.
