Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular, Reston, Virginia. This position supports a new cardiac surgery program and provides direct primary recovery care for fresh cardiac surgery patients in a cardiovascular intensive care setting. The role requires advanced cardiovascular support skills and participation in a structured day-shift schedule.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: 12 years of experience caring for fresh cardiac surgery patients with direct primary recovery responsibility; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; experience or training with balloon pumps, Impella devices, and Hemosphere or Acumen monitoring.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a primary nursing model and immediate post-surgical cardiovascular intensive care.
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 48 hours per week, with three weekend shifts every four weeks.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Patient assignments include a 1:1 ratio for immediate post-surgical patients and a 1:2 ratio for postoperative days 13. The role supports a new cardiac surgery program and requires care for patients receiving advanced cardiovascular therapies. Navy blue uniforms are required.
