Job Summary
Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Vascular Floor. The position provides nursing care for adult patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cellulitis, alcohol withdrawal, kidney disorders, dementia, and cerebrovascular accidents. The role includes telemetry monitoring, clinical assessment, medication administration, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team in an acute-care setting.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Assignment Dates: 11/16/2026 through 02/15/2027.
- Required Qualifications: Current Washington State nursing license or compact license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Provide care for medical-surgical, progressive care, emergency department boarding, and temporary bed location patients. Patient assignments typically maintain a 5:1 ratio and may increase to 6:1 during inpatient boarding. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation, management of heparin, Cardizem, insulin outside of diabetic ketoacidosis protocols, and comfort narcotic infusions.
- Patient Population: Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cellulitis, alcohol withdrawal, kidney disorders, dementia, and cerebrovascular accidents.
- Operational Details: Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, with holiday coverage based on unit needs. Close observation is supported through camera monitoring, and floor-specific orientation is provided.
