Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery: A night-shift nursing position supporting patients throughout labor, delivery, cesarean procedures, antepartum care, fetal demises, and triage for pregnancies at 20 weeks or greater. The role involves fetal monitoring, titration of Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium infusions, and collaboration with obstetric and neonatal care teams in an acute care setting.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Current labor and delivery experience of at least 2 years; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.
• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, three shifts per week. Every other weekend and one major and two minor holidays are required.
• Additional Information: Provides care for laboring patients, inductions, cesarean procedures, antepartum complications, fetal demises, and triage concerns at 20 weeks or greater. Responsibilities include titrating Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium infusions; monitoring fetal heart patterns; and caring for patients receiving magnesium therapy. The unit follows Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) guidelines and uses Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM). One on-call shift is required every two weeks. A one-day unit orientation is provided, and light-blue scrubs are supplied.
