Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician in Ukiah, California, supporting labor, delivery, recovery, and obstetrics/gynecology surgical procedures on the night shift. The role assists with patient preparation and transport, sterile supply setup, surgical team support, room turnover, fetal monitoring, vital signs, and general patient care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent approved certification required.
  • Surgical scrub experience required, preferably in obstetrics with cesarean sections.
  • High school education or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent preferred.
  • Associate or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience, preferred.
  • Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification preferred.
• Additional Information:
  • Prepare patient rooms and establish sterile fields using aseptic technique.
  • Assist the surgical team by providing instruments and supplies during operative procedures.
  • Participate in the surgical timeout for each case.
  • Assist nursing staff with labor and delivery preparation, positioning, transportation, transfers, and discharge.
  • Apply fetal monitoring equipment and record maternal vital signs, weight, height, and intake and output measurements.
  • Collect urinalysis specimens and provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living.
  • Support patient registration, stock the obstetrics unit, room triage patients, and assist with birth certificate processes.
  • Required vaccinations must be maintained in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements; applicable medical and religious exemptions may apply.
