Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in a location not specified, supporting adult and geriatric patients in a structured inpatient care environment. The role provides 12-hour night-shift coverage and requires progressive care experience, cardiac monitoring expertise, and proficiency with Epic charting.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year in the required specialty.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
  • Compact state license in hand at submission.
  • Current experience in the discipline within the past 6 months.
  • Epic charting system experience.
  • Proficiency with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac drips without titration, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, BiPAP/CPAP management, central and PICC line care, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, blood product administration, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment, intravenous access, post-cardiac angiogram care, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care, pre- and post-cardiac surgery care, and procedural sedation monitoring.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient ratios are 1:4 in the Progressive Care Unit and 1:5 in the medical-surgical setting.
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients.
  • Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support.
  • Orientation includes 40 hours.
  • The assignment requires coverage of 3 of 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, or New Years Day.
