Description
Job Summary
Medical Surgical Floor position for an acute care setting. The role supports the care of medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced environment, including patients requiring telemetry monitoring. The position follows a day-shift schedule with weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; every other weekend and participation in the holiday rotation are required.
- Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical experience; Cerner experience; ability to read electrocardiogram (EKG) strips and care for telemetry patients.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: The assignment supports a medical-surgical unit with a typical patient ratio of 5:1. Ventilator care is not required. Intravenous (IV) and peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) teams are available during the day, with respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7. Unit orientation includes one shift on each medical-surgical unit.
