Job Summary

Medical Surgical Orthopedic Floor position supporting adult and geriatric patients in an orthopedic and neurology-focused unit. The role includes caring for patients with medical-surgical, orthopedic trauma, neurological, and post-neurosurgical needs, with telemetry monitored through a centralized unit. Weekend coverage and float rotation may be required.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • At least 1 year of experience
  • State or compact license in hand at the time of submission
  • Recent Epic charting experience within the past 6 months
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Weekend coverage is required.
  • Patient ratios are 5:1 on days, nights, and weekends.
  • The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients.
  • Clinical experience includes medical-surgical care, orthopedic trauma, cerebrovascular accident (CVA) care, traumatic brain injury, substance withdrawal, total joint replacement, wound care, isolation precautions, peripheral line management, non-invasive airway management, and post-neurosurgery care.
  • Physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support are available.
  • Two requested time-off dates must be listed at the time of submission.
  • Core onboarding items and laboratory requirements must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
