Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor. The position provides care to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients in a fast-paced inpatient setting. Responsibilities include patient advocacy, collaboration with the care team, and management of a diverse range of medical-surgical conditions.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: North Carolina or compact nursing license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Associate or bachelors degree in nursing; at least 2 years of nursing experience; Cerner experience; intravenous therapy competency.
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 minimum hours per week; every other weekend; no call requirements.
- Additional Information: Provides care for adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients, with a typical patient ratio of 1:6. Common conditions include chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbation, gastrointestinal bleeding, diabetic complications, wound care needs, pancreatitis, sickle cell crisis, end-of-life and hospice care, falls, weakness, sepsis, and infection. The role requires strong teamwork, patient advocacy, and the ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- Preferred Qualifications: Charge nurse experience.
