Job Summary

Medical Surgical With Telemetry in Long Beach: This position supports patients across adult and geriatric populations with medical-surgical and telemetry needs, including stroke, cardiac, respiratory, orthopedic, oncology, wound care, and neurological conditions. Responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, oxygen administration, peripheral line care, isolation precautions, and rapid response or code team support.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications; California license in hand; travel experience; skills in medical-surgical telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response and code team utilization, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula use, oxygen administration and tank management, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions.
• Preferred Qualifications: Two years of experience, previous charge experience, and Trauma Level I or Trauma Level II experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Call coverage is required.
  • Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
  • Float rotation may be required based on census.
  • The unit serves adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.
  • The position supports patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, seizures, trauma, orthopedic conditions, wounds, diabetes, and psychiatric conditions.
  • Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, and lift teams.
  • Scrubs are navy.
  • Orientation includes 12 hours, with specialty-specific training modules completed during orientation.
