Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Oncology Long Beach, California. This position provides oncology nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical oncology setting. Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration and monitoring, telemetry care, intravenous therapy, blood product administration, and management of complex patient needs.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, three shifts per week, 36 hours per week; scheduled from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with every-other-weekend coverage.
• Required Qualifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification; Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy certification; California registered nurse license in hand; 2 years of experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) experience is required. Required clinical capabilities include chemotherapy administration and monitoring, port and central-line management, blood product administration, telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, oxygen and noninvasive airway management, insulin protocols, wound care, feeding-tube management, chest-tube care, and rapid-response participation. Experience with the EPIC charting system is required. The typical patient ratio is 4:1, with an average daily census of 18 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid-response teams, pharmacy, and unit-secretary support.
• Assignment Period: 11/16/2026 through 02/15/2027.
