Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical With Telemetry Long Beach, California. This position provides care for adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting. The role includes telemetry monitoring, a 4:1 patient ratio, floating to medical-surgical and emergency department holding areas, and collaboration with interdisciplinary support services.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., three shifts per week, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience
  • Current California nursing license in hand
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG) certification
  • Experience with medical-surgical and telemetry care
  • Competency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, central and peripheral line care, peripherally inserted central catheter management, intravenous therapy, blood product administration, heparin and intravenous insulin protocols, feeding tube care, phlebotomy, wound care, post-cardiac angiogram care, post-myocardial infarction care, renal failure management, and use of rapid response and code teams
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients.
  • Patient ratio is 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends.
  • Floating may include medical-surgical and emergency department holding assignments based on census.
  • Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
  • No on-call shifts are required.
  • First-time travelers may be considered with relevant experience.
  • Pre-approved time off must be submitted with the application.
  • Assignment dates are 11/30/2026 through 03/01/2027.
