Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Rm Tech ORT. The surgical technician supports operative procedures across a broad range of specialties, including thoracic, trauma, neuro, spine, orthopedic, and robotic cases. The role requires an active Virginia license, relevant certifications, and experience in a high-volume operating room environment.

Job Details

Required Qualifications: Active Virginia license at submission; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification; at least 2 years of experience; required experience with thoracic, trauma, neuro, spine, orthopedic, and robotic procedures.
Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; on-call day and overnight coverage is expected, averaging 56 call shifts during a 6-week period, including weekends.
Additional Information: The role supports approximately 2535 cases per day across 11 operating suites. Common procedures include total joint, sports medicine, fracture, spinal, cranial, tumor resection, brain biopsy, maxillofacial, ear, nose and throat, plastic, vascular, colorectal, general, gynecologic, robotic, urologic, podiatric, thoracic, and breast procedures. Familiarity with surgical navigation is expected; clipping experience is not required. Scrubs are provided, and department-specific orientation is one week for day shifts and two weeks for night shifts. Holiday scheduling may apply if the assignment extends through a holiday.
