Description
Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Labor and Delivery Department. This position supports labor and delivery operations during 12-hour night shifts and provides care for adolescents, infants, and adults. Responsibilities include circulating for cesarean sections, recovering cesarean-section patients, and performing intravenous starts.
Job Details
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, 36 hours per week; 13-week assignment.
- Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate, Basic Life Support (BLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications; compact state license in hand at submission.
- Additional Information: Labor and delivery experience, including circulating for cesarean sections, recovering cesarean-section patients, and performing intravenous starts. Typical patient ratios are one labor patient to three postpartum couplets. The unit supports approximately 160 births per month and provides interdisciplinary support from respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries.
