Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN), Intensive Care Unit Float. The position provides comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation for critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) promotes patient-centered care, safety, education, evidence-based practice, and professional development while supporting patients and families.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, every other weekend.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), Health Safety Institute (HSI), or American Red Cross.
  • Collaboration, verbal and written communication, judgment and critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning and time management, problem-solving, quality, reliability, and safety and risk management skills.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
  • Relevant skills certifications, such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), as required by the assigned home unit.
• Responsibilities: Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care; educates patients and families; safely administers medications; supports effective resource utilization; complies with nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements; participates in shared governance, quality improvement, peer review, continuing nursing education, and professional development; supports new employees and students; and performs Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator duties when assigned.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
