Description

Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Intensive Care Unit. This position provides critical care to adult patients with complex medical and surgical conditions in a 20-bed intensive care unit. The role requires night-shift availability, telemetry competency, and the ability to float to medical-surgical units as needed.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, including every other weekend. Night shifts do not rotate.
Required Qualifications: Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license; American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications; telemetry competency; at least 2 years of continuous Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) or adult intensive care experience.
Float: Float rotation may be required.
Additional Information: Provides care for adult patients with conditions including substance abuse or overdose, severe psychiatric conditions, diabetic ketoacidosis, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock. Patient assignments may range from 1:1 or 1:2 for high-acuity patients in the intensive care unit to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to medical-surgical units.
