Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical Surgical Floor. The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care for surgical patients across the continuum of care, including pre-operative, intraoperative, and postoperative needs. The role performs assessments, delivers safe and competent nursing care, supports pre-admission testing, provides patient and family education, and maintains accurate clinical documentation.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; active Registered Nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; at least 1 year of experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
• Additional Information: Performs systematic and comprehensive patient assessments; provides nursing care based on patient condition, procedure, anesthesia, age, and developmental needs; demonstrates competency with emergency equipment and procedures; evaluates Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders for completeness and appropriateness; performs pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education; supports timely completion of patient testing; documents patient progress and education accurately; follows patient safety practices, universal identification protocols, safe transfer techniques, and proper body mechanics; promotes patient and family involvement in care; maintains professional collaboration and confidentiality.
