Job Summary

Surgical Technician, Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician. The Surgical Technician supports the surgical team by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment for procedures and maintaining a sterile surgical field. This role passes instruments, handles specimens and medications appropriately, performs surgical counts, and assists with operating room turnover and patient care activities.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal, structured Surgical Technology program; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; knowledge of anatomy, physiology, surgical procedures, sterile technique, safety procedures, and applicable policies and regulatory requirements; ability to communicate effectively, exercise sound judgment, support operating room patient care activities, and identify and escalate safety or sterile technique concerns.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist certification.
• Schedule: Day shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include anticipating surgeon needs, selecting appropriate sterilization methods, preparing and verifying instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile technique, performing surgical counts with the circulating nurse, handling specimens and medications according to established procedures, supporting case setup and room turnover, and recognizing the individual age, cultural, and developmental needs of patients.
