Job Summary

Surgical Technologist, Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician. The Surgical Technologist supports the surgical team by preparing instruments, supplies, and equipment; maintaining sterile technique; assisting with surgical procedures; and performing surgical counts and room turnover. The role requires effective communication, sound judgment, and attention to patient safety and individualized care.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Completion of a formal, structured Surgical Technology program; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy and physiology, sterile technique, safety procedures, and applicable policies and regulatory requirements; ability to prepare operating room cases, support patient care during procedures, perform surgical counts, handle specimens and medications appropriately, maintain sterile technique, and communicate identified safety concerns.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
• Schedule: Evening shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include anticipating the needs of the surgeon, passing instruments and supplies, preparing the surgical field, verifying equipment readiness, monitoring for breaks in sterile technique, assisting with room turnover, and supporting care appropriate to the patients age, culture, and developmental needs.
