Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Operating Room. This role supports perioperative care in a Level II trauma center serving primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric cases. The position requires operating room expertise, trauma experience, participation in department call, and flexibility to support changing surgical service needs.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shift, 10-hour shifts, 40 hours per week. Start and stop times may vary based on unit needs.
• Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience; active compact license in hand at submission; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification; Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification; Level II trauma experience; required electronic charting experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Operating room scrub experience; Level I trauma experience; experience with neuro, thoracic, general, orthopedic, plastic, robotic, gynecologic, ear, nose and throat, pediatric, urologic, trauma, or vascular procedures.
• Additional Information:
  • Department call participation is required, typically involving approximately four call shifts during a 12-week rotation.
  • Weekend coverage may be required based on scheduling needs.
  • The department operates 18 operating rooms on weekdays, with one reserved for trauma, and operates several rooms after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends.
  • The patient population is primarily adult, with occasional pediatric patients.
  • A separate team supports cardiac cases.
  • Surgical responsibilities may include trauma, general, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, robotic, gynecologic, urologic, thoracic, and other specialty procedures.
  • Orientation includes 30 hours.
