Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Operating Room. The position supports an acute care surgical unit with four operating rooms and one gastrointestinal endoscopy room, averaging approximately 10 cases per day. Responsibilities include providing perioperative nursing care for general, robotic, orthopedic, gynecologic, podiatric, and gastrointestinal procedures.

Job Details

• Schedule: Rotating schedule with 7.5-hour shifts and 37.5 hours per week. Regular hours are 6:30 a.m.3:00 p.m., MondayFriday, with evening and weekend call. Weeknight call is 3:00 p.m.7:00 a.m., and weekend call is 7:00 a.m.7:00 a.m.; a 30-minute call response time is required.
• Required Qualifications: Registered nurse license required for submission; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); minimum of 2 years of experience; experience in an operating room setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Robotic surgery and gastrointestinal experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Provides perioperative care for procedures including robotic surgery, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repair, appendectomy, basic orthopedic, gynecologic, and podiatric cases.
  • The surgical unit includes four operating rooms and one gastrointestinal endoscopy room.
  • Electronic charting is completed using Epic.
  • Contract staff complete an orientation checkoff and work alongside experienced staff until clinically comfortable.
  • The organization provides operating room technicians and first assistants for most cases.
