Job Summary

Operating Room Open Heart position supporting cardiovascular surgical procedures in an acute care setting. The role involves day shifts, on-call coverage, weekend rotation, and collaboration within the operating room across specialties. Common procedures include coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, and thoracotomy.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts are 12 hours, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. On-call coverage, every-other-weekend rotation, and holiday coverage are required.
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA); Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Cardiovascular operating room coverage includes approximately one to two cases per day.
  • On-call coverage is rotated separately among cardiovascular operating room registered nurses.
  • Floating may occur to the main operating room and other operating room specialties.
  • Registered nurses are not required to scrub but scrubbing experience is preferred.
  • Orientation is approximately one week or continues until the clinician is comfortable.
  • The operating room provides a range of cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, aortic valve replacement, mitral valve replacement, and thoracotomy.
  • Assignment dates are 11/23/2026 through 02/22/2027.
