Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Emergency Room, Washington. The position provides emergency nursing care in an acute-care setting serving patients with conditions including stroke, ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health needs. The role supports a collaborative emergency department team and may include triage, laboratory draws, cardiac monitoring, respiratory treatments, and care for critical patients.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and some holiday coverage are expected. The assignment runs from 11/23/2026 through 02/22/2027.
• Required Qualifications: Emergency Room nursing experience; a minimum of 1 year of experience; behavioral health experience; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; and a valid drivers license required at submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous travel nursing experience, preferably completion of 12 assignments. Experience serving as a charge nurse is also preferred.
• Additional Information:
  • Provides care in a Level III trauma setting with approximately 66 patients treated per day.
  • Supports a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
  • May care for patients requiring insulin, cardiac, sedation, and other critical drips.
  • Travelers with triage experience may be assigned to triage.
  • Respiratory therapy manages ventilators, continuous positive airway pressure, bilevel positive airway pressure, airway management, arterial blood gases, and related equipment.
  • Registered Nurses perform laboratory draws, administer breathing treatments, and monitor telemetry in collaboration with monitoring technicians.
  • Department orientation consists of one 12-hour shift with an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse.
  • Royal blue scrubs are required.
  • The facility provides 24/7 emergency department security and designated rooms for behavioral health patients.
