Job Summary

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Portsmouth, NH. This position provides care for patients in a neuro-trauma progressive care setting, with a focus on telemetry and step-down nursing. The role requires a team-oriented professional comfortable caring for complex patients and participating in every-other-weekend coverage.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 10 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Telemetry step-down experience
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Neuro experience
  • Trauma experience
  • National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient ratios are approximately 4:1.
  • The unit uses bedside monitors, end-tidal oxygen monitoring, high-flow oxygen, chronic ventilators, and subdural drains.
  • Typical procedures include chest tube management and electroencephalograms (EEGs).
  • Every-other-weekend coverage is required; no on-call requirement.
  • Professional scrub attire is required, with no specific color designated.
  • A team-oriented approach is preferred.
