Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room. This role is responsible for applying the nursing process to care for veteran patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, care planning, intervention, evaluation, documentation, and coordination of non-nursing direct care providers.
Job Details
- Schedule: Evening shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
- New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multistate compact license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services
- Effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare personnel
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Additional Information:
- Applies the nursing process to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room.
- Ensures documentation reflects patient assessments, interdisciplinary treatment plans, clinical interventions, and responses to treatment.
- Assigns and evaluates the work of non-nursing direct care providers assigned to the operating room.
- Experience with orthopaedic nursing, robotic procedures, and electronic clinical documentation systems is preferred.
