Medical Surgical Neurology Floor night-shift position supporting adult and geriatric patients in an inpatient neurological care setting. The role includes 12-hour night shifts and a 48-hour weekly schedule, with responsibility for safe patient care, neurological assessment, medication administration, and coordination with interdisciplinary support services.

Job Details

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 48 hours per week. No call required. Weekend coverage includes six weekend shifts within a six-week period.
• Required Qualifications: At least one year of recent experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, with pending certifications considered; experience caring for up to six patients; ability to provide care for adult and geriatric patients.
• Preferred Qualifications: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
• Additional Information:
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:6.
  • Electronic charting is used.
  • Responsibilities may include blood product administration, central line blood draws, chest tube care, ostomy care, feeding tube management, insulin administration, isolation precautions, oxygen therapy, peripheral and peripherally inserted central catheter care, phlebotomy, hemodialysis support, intravenous therapy, surgical drain care, and wound care.
  • Rapid response team support and interdisciplinary services are available.
  • The role accepts first-time travelers.
