Job Summary
Medical Surgical With Telemetry. This role provides nursing care to adult patients with liver, kidney, pancreatic, and complex gastrointestinal diseases, including recipients of liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants. The position also supports medical-surgical and telemetry overflow care, advanced abdominal procedures, and interdisciplinary patient services.
Job Details
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., 36 hours per week, including every other weekend.
- Required Qualifications: Valid California nursing license; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; at least 2 years of nursing experience; transplant experience involving liver, kidney, and pancreas; medical-surgical and telemetry experience; proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response and code team procedures, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions, feeding tube care, and liver transplant care.
- Additional Information:
- Provides care for adult patients with diseases and disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, kidney, and pancreas.
- Supports patients undergoing abdominal organ transplants, advanced abdominal surgeries, and treatments such as Whipple procedures.
- May provide care in a medical-surgical and telemetry overflow setting.
- Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial services.
- Orientation includes 36 hours.
