Job Summary

Surgical Technician/Operating Room Technician. The role facilitates operative and other invasive procedures by preparing sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment while maintaining the sterile field. The technician anticipates the needs of the surgical team, supports safe procedural workflows, and assists with room preparation and post-procedure activities.

Job Details

• Schedule: Day shifts, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred Qualifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
• Additional Information:
  • Assemble and organize sterile supplies and instruments for operative and invasive procedures.
  • Provide instruments and supplies to the surgical team while maintaining an organized and sterile field.
  • Assist with sterile draping, sterile dressing preparation, surgical counts, and corrective actions when sterility is compromised.
  • Clean and prepare surgical instruments for processing and transport to decontamination areas.
  • Assist with post-procedure room cleaning and preparation for subsequent patients.
  • Participate in ongoing education and competency verification related to surgical technologist responsibilities.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
  • Complete CRASE training if the assignment extends beyond six months.
