Job Summary

Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical Neurology. The role provides comprehensive nursing care to patients on a medical-surgical neurology unit while collaborating with interdisciplinary team members. Responsibilities include administering treatments, developing individualized care plans, documenting patient care, supporting patient safety, and contributing to performance improvement activities.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Every other weekend and holiday coverage is required.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Current Wisconsin nursing license
  • Current National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Education verification
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information:
  • Utilizes the nursing process to provide individualized patient care.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, standards of care, and applicable laws.
  • Documents patient care according to established standards.
  • Develops, initiates, and executes patient care plans, including patient and family instruction.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and provides clinical guidance to other units or departments as needed.
  • Participates in unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
  • Applies critical thinking to support patient safety and patient experience and escalates concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
