Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Operating Room. The role provides comprehensive perioperative nursing care through critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership during surgical procedures. Responsibilities include collaborating with the surgical team, supporting patient safety, coordinating operative activities, and supervising personnel involved in patient care.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. End times may vary based on procedures.
- Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse qualification; Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; stroke care competency.
- Additional Information:
- Call coverage is required approximately 78 days per month.
- Scrubs are provided.
- Responsibilities include anticipating and planning patient care, ensuring surgical supplies are available, supporting case timeliness, communicating with families, updating physician preference cards, scrubbing and assisting during surgical cases, and supervising personnel delivering patient care.
- Care must be provided in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, perioperative nursing standards, regulatory requirements, physician orders, and applicable policies and procedures.
