Job Summary

Operating Room Registered Nurse, Operating Room This position supports overnight operating room services in a highly autonomous charge role. Responsibilities include coordinating cases, preparing rooms for the following day, and supporting general, robotic, vascular, thoracic, urologic, gynecologic, bariatric, plastic, and other surgical procedures.

Job Details

• Schedule: 10-hour night shifts from 10:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday through Wednesday, totaling 40 hours per week; an ASAP start is preferred.
• Required Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of operating room experience.
  • Prior travel assignment experience; first-time travelers are not accepted.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certifications.
  • Compact nursing license in hand at submission.
  • Thoracic and vascular surgical experience sufficient to independently support applicable cases.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Epic charting.
  • Trauma Level I or Level II experience.
  • Experience coordinating operating room cases, organizing surgical schedules, and working independently in a charge capacity.
• Additional Information:
  • The overnight nurse functions as the charge nurse, coordinates the night shift, schedules cases, and completes procedures as needed.
  • When no cases are scheduled, responsibilities include preparing operating rooms for the following day.
  • Weekend coverage may include regular shifts based on departmental needs.
  • Night-shift positions do not require call coverage.
  • Surgical specialties include general, robotic, urologic, gynecologic, bariatric, vascular, plastic, thoracic, orthopedic, gastrointestinal, and other complex procedures.
  • The role serves patients across neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
